LA Fires Artwork Fundraiser by Brooke Holm
30.01.25

This month, our dear friend Brooke Holm hosted an artwork fundraiser at NHO in support of artists and arts workers affected by the LA fires. Born and raised in California, Brooke showcased select photographic artworks from her catalogue, notably works from 2015–2019 series including Arctic, Salt & Sky, and Mineral Matter, among others.

In Brooke’s words: “For over 15 years, I have explored and photographed the Earth’s surface, creating detailed environmental portraits of its elemental features. Often working from small aircrafts at low altitudes, I focus on the relationship between human and non-human life from a distanced perspective, revealing the intricate ecosystems that sustain the planet. When we shift our perspective, the Earth reveals itself as a vast network of bodies, each contributing to the survival of the whole. This is particularly resonant as Los Angeles experiences an acute and devastating wildfire event.”

The event saw Brooke raise USD 10K for Grief & Hope and The Brick, who have joined forces to aid impacted individuals in the art community. Congratulations on this thoughtful initiative, Brooke. We are proud to have played a small part.
