While we couldn’t be there this year, Stockholm Design Week looked a little different in 2021. The celebrated Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair was delivered in a special ‘digital and city edition’, incorporating showrooms, pop-ups and exhibitions, with talks, debates and interviews available online. We were excited to tune in to the Design & Architecture Talks – in particular, for French-Columbian professor Carlos Moreno’s lecture ‘The 15-minute city – a new vision of urban living’. Moreno shared his vision for sustainable cities, where residents can truly live locally with everything they need just a short walk or bike ride away. As cities recover from COVID-19, Moreno’s concept is more relevant than ever. While it’s was a pity that Stockholm was not be activated to the same extent as previous years, we were delighted to see the program continuing in a new and accessible format – ensuring global attendees and listeners can enjoy the best of Nordic design in a safe way.
