Stockholm is one of our universally loved travel destinations. Earlier this month, Stockholm Design Week reinforced the Swedish capital’s ongoing focus on responsible design practices and celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair. Guests of honour, Doshi Levien, presented an abstract version of their London-based studio (pictured). A labyrinthine-like vaulted interior held sketches and prototypes with a gallery-like reverence, set against the duo’s latest production pieces for the likes of Moroso, B&B Italia and Kvadrat; a true delight. The launch of Gabriel Tan’s Origin initiative at Asplund was another highlight. New works in porcelain, sand-cast aluminium, hog bristle and blown glass expressed the skill of local artisans, underlining the collaborative synergies between Scandinavia and Portugal.
