A very kind client recently gifted us a copy of The Eye by Nathan Williams – we have been taking turns to pour over its pages since. Williams, founder of Kinfolk magazine, set out to explore “How the World’s Most Influential Creative Directors Develop Their Vision”, and the result is endlessly inspiring. From fashion designers to editorial directors and global tastemakers, Williams delves into their habits and rituals, milestones, mentors and what they’ve learnt along the way; everything that has influenced their “eye”— that is, the uncanny ability of a special few to shape and define how we experience people, places and things. Naturally, the book itself is also beautiful, having been designed by Alex Hunting who just happens to be Kinfolk’s design director. Definitely one to add to your reading list.
